Engineering
With over 70 years of combined experience, the MICA Steelworks Engineering team excels in the Steel Structural Design for Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, and Substation industries. Our staff, comprised exclusively of Civil/Structural engineers, includes two Professional Engineers (P.E.) and is led by our V.P. of Engineering, who is a member of ASCE and SEI. This affiliation grants our engineers firsthand insight into industry-specific design practices. Our seasoned engineers specialize in the Structural Analysis and Design of steel tapered tubular and standard shapes for various structures, including Transmission (Single Pole, Guyed Pole, H-Frame, A-Frame) and Substation (Switch Stand, Box Structures, Bus Supports, CCVT Stand, Surge Arrester Support, Static Mast). Utilizing Power Line Systems® software, we ensure all projects meet both customer specifications and industry standards, such as ASCE-48, ASCE-113, ASCE-74, NESC, NEMA, AISC, and various RUS Bulletins.
Drafting
The MICA Steelworks Drafting department brings over 100 years of combined experience in steel structural drafting for the Transmission, Distribution, and Substation industries. Our team utilizes the latest version of parametric 3D Solid Modeling with Autodesk Inventor, staying at the cutting edge of technology. This advanced software, combined with a strong sense of teamwork, allows us to create precise product models and fabrication drawings, identifying potential design issues before production and ensuring accuracy and fitup in the field. Our commitment to continuous improvement drives productivity gains across Engineering/Drafting, Project Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA/QC, and Customer Service.
Materials Management
Our streamlined process enhances efficiency and minimizes delays. Our team is committed to process excellence and optimization to enables first-class service by delivering the right product at the right time. It differentiates from the others us by reducing lead times and supply chain costs, effectively managing inventory levels, increasing contractor efficiencies, and utilizing 120 acres for the storage of completed structures.
